1981
Herr's Market opens on River Road. Marietta gets a new neighborhood market — and a new place to grab a cup of coffee in the morning.
Our Story
Herr's Market opened its doors in 1981. We're family-owned, locally trusted, and — somehow — still here. Still open early. Still slicing deli meat to order. Still the place where you can pop in for a gallon of milk and end up in a 10-minute conversation about the Eagles.
That's the part we're proudest of: we know our neighbors, and our neighbors know us. After 44 years, you don't get that by accident.

Our Place on River Road
The neighborhood market
A lot of places say "family-owned." Around here, it actually means something. It means we've watched kids grow up walking in for slushies and then come back as adults with kids of their own. It means we've seen four decades of weather, traffic, fads, and faces — and we're still standing right where we started.
Marietta's a small town. Herr's Market is part of how it works.

Inside the Market
A short timeline
1981
Herr's Market opens on River Road. Marietta gets a new neighborhood market — and a new place to grab a cup of coffee in the morning.
The 90s
The deli becomes a local lunch staple. Regulars order "the usual" without ever needing to say what it is.
2000s
Gas pumps, lottery, and PA Skill Games join the lineup. The market grows, but the feel stays the same.
Today
Three-plus decades in, still family-owned, still open early, still proud to be the market on the corner.
We'd love to meet you — whether it's your first time in or your thousandth.
